China and India should join our efforts and work together to make fresh contributions to our common homeland and to our bright future. This was the view expressed by Ms. Chen Qiang, Deputy Auditor General of China with his Indian counterpart Mr. Shankar Narayan, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India at the 19th China-Indo Joint audit Seminar, which was held in Kolkata from 3rd to 8th December 2012.
They were speaking at the annual Indo-China joint seminar on the subject ‘Environmental Auditing and Sustainable Development'. Ms. Chen Qiang is leading a five-member Chinese delegation while Mr. Narayan is assisted by Ms. S. Talapatra, Principal Accountant General, here and two others.
During the seminar, the Chinese delegation presented two theme papers namely China'a Environmental Audit and Sustainable Development and Case Study on Environment Audit on Watershed Water. while the Indian colleagues introduced the case of waste management audit and Environmental Audit Report.
After the meeting in India, the Chinese delegation went to visit Vietnam on 9th to 11th, September. Ms. Chen met with Mr. Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, the Auditor General of Office of the State Audit of Vietnam. Both sides have exchanged the experiences on governmental auditing, especially the economic accountability audit. the Chinese delegation also paid a visit to the regional audit office No. 1, which is located at Hanoi.
